Construction Verification

Stay within tolerance! This session will focus on laser scanning for construction QA/QC. Exercises may include concrete Floor Flatness and Floor Levelness assessments, ADA slope analysis, and Level of Accuracy assessments for comparing construction progress with the BIM.

This session will teach attendees the basics in converting laser scan data into intelligent architectural and mechanical pipe models using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.

Laser Scanning for Facility Coordination

Is that going to fit? A common question many of us don’t know the answer to until equipment is in the field and it’s too late. This session will teach the basics in using point cloud data for facility layout and planning. Avoid costly collisions and field re-work by verifying project logistics before they happen.


Plant Scan to Fabrication

This session will walk attendees through the conversion of as-built piping into fabrication ready drawings. With time permitting this session will also teach attendees how to verify if new design will work in the field.

In this workshop you will learn how to register and geo-reference laser scans to State Plane coordinates using FARO SCENE and create Topographic Survey Deliverables in Autodesk Civil 3D.

SCENE 7: Maximizing Project Workflows

SCENE 7: Maximizing Project Workflows

This session will focus on point cloud processing and registration within SCENE 7 so users can extract their point clouds in shorter time with less effort. Users will also learn how to navigate the point cloud with the Overview Map and view the point cloud in VR with an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.


Learn how to plan field measurements and maximize 3D laser scanning solutions to create customized deliverables for common design and construction applications. Executing these workflows will enable you to:

  • Analyze Slabs and Walls for flatness
  • Create FF/FL and ADA Compliance reports
  • Monitor steel and slab deflection
  • Extract 3D models from point clouds in Autodesk® Revit®
  • Compare BIM models to as-built point clouds in Autodesk® Revit®
  • Model existing piping in Autodesk® AutoCAD® and Revit®
  • Efficiently register and process data sets
  • Navigate through the project using SCENE functionality
